Plenary – DISABILITY RIGHTS & FAIR HOUSING – From a Broad Perspective of Housing Civil Rights
In 1988, the FHAA set the tone for a defining era as to the nature, extent and enforceability of individualized requests of persons with disabilities for reasonable accommodations and modifications. The question becomes what lies beyond that milestone. Is there a mandate to set public policy and reach goals of affordable and accessible housing pursuant to HUD regulations and public funding in relationship to anti-housing discrimination laws?
